  • Emotional abuse (criticize, put down, intimidate)

  • Physical aggression (hit, shove, slap, kick, choke, force sex)

  • Property damage (break things, slam doors, throw objects)

  • Internalization (stuff feelings, seethe, develop health problems, do self-harm)

  • Externalization (blame others including intimate partners, bosses, co-workers, family, friends, the legal system)

I will help you to:

  • Recognize how and why your anger gets triggered and out of control

  • Identify feelings and underlying emotions

  • Interrupt the cycle before it causes damage to others and to yourself

  • Learn and apply skills and tools, such as relaxation techniques, mindful breathing and meditation, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

  • Learn the difference between healthy and unhealthy anger

  • Learn to express important feelings more effectively and safely

  • Find the motivation to choose healthy outlets such as physical exercise, writing, social activities, spiritual practices, creating strong support systems
